B. Eng. in MAE (2007-08 and thereafter)
We offer a B.Eng. (Hons) Programme in Mechanical and Automation Engineering, which emphasizes the impact of modern automation technologies on current and future developments of mechanical engineering. Particular concern is given to the automation of design and production of machines and their products. The programme stresses both basic theory and hands-on practice. The curriculum consists of fundamentals of mechanical and automation engineering. These include mechanics and materials, thermal-fluids, dynamics and control, electronics, robotics, design and manufacturing. A Professional Engineering Training Module is also provided to enhance the essential elements in an engineering practitioner. The curriculum includes summer workshop training, engineering profession and design applications, management and technical communications, and final year projects. The aim is to produce engineers who are innovative (in solving problems) and adaptive (to changes in environment and technology).
